Brookland Middle School – Teddy Bear Incident

The Brookland Middle School Criminal Justice Club was founded in the 2019-2020 school year. The program was developed to introduce students to Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice related careers, to make them understand what and why police officers do every day, and to have an honest and open discussion about perception of police work. Led by science teacher Todd Hickey and School Resource Officer, Sergeant Alex Danilovich, the program’s main goal is to build relationships between students and police officers in order to make the community safe and to help students gain trust in the Henrico Police Division.
