China's Coal Is RUINING Its Water

China is the biggest emitter of CO2 of all the developed countries combined. That’s in large part due to the large amount of coal it burns, and it doesn’t plan to stop using coal anytime soon. While the effects on Co2 emissions are well known, coal also creates a lot of water pollution. In this episode of China Unscripted, we discuss China’s shortage of fresh, clean water, the issues with using salt water to replace fresh water, and how much hydropwer factors into China’s energy mix. Joining us in this episode is Andrew Eil, the head of climate risk for North America for Tata Consultancy Services.
