The Hong Kong protests that rocked the streets in 2019 and 2020 may not be as visible as they once were, but they haven’t gone quietly into the night. Many of the protesters have regrouped outside of Hong Kong and are finding other ways to make their voices heard. In this episode of China Unscripted, we talk about how Hong Kong protesters are targeting business leaders, how the protests briefly united Hongkongers, and the mindset that Hong Kong protesters have to have if they want to fight for Hong Kong’s freedoms. Joining us in this episode is Anna Kwok, the strategy and campaign director for the DC-based nonprofit Hong Kong Democracy Council.
