‘How has it gone this wrong’: New Yorkers told to carry Narcan as overdose crisis ramps up

Author Douglas Murray has discussed the latest drug overdose statistics in United States which show a New York City resident dies every three hours from an overdose.

Figures from the NYC Health Department reveal overdose deaths increased by 12 per cent from 2021 to 2022.

Fentanyl was detected in 81 per cent of drug overdose deaths in the city.

“This anti-overdose medication, they are now recommending every New Yorker carries around with them,” Mr Murray said.

“I mean you have to ask at that point, how has it gone this wrong.”
