Is the US State Department Working Against Taiwan?

The US claims to be an ally of Taiwan, but sometimes US actions towards Taiwan contradict that claim. That’s is especially the case with the US State Department, which has treated Taiwan at times like a thorn in its relationship with China. In this episode of China Unscripted, we discuss Micronesia’s plan to recognize Taiwan instead of China, what message it would send if it did, and what the US State Department has to do with the decision. Joining us in this episode is Cleo Paskal, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
