Proponents of legalizing marijuana in California said it would cut down on crime. After California passed prop 64 legalizing it across the state, the opposite happened. Instead of creating a flourishing legal pot industry that increased tax revenue to the state, it created a haven for cartels and illegal farmers who took advantage of California’s laws to make big profits.
