Police: Business on VCU campus reportedly broken into, door damaged

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond business located on Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus was reportedly broken into.

At about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, the Richmond Police Department received a report of a break-in at 804 West Broad St., according to an alert posted by VCU Police.

This is the location of a local business on VCU’s Monroe Park campus, though the alert did not confirm the name of the involved business.

Police were told that the door to the business appeared damaged and that it looked as though someone had “rummaged through” the inside, according to the alert.

At this time, it is unknown if anything was taken from the store.

There is no information on a potential suspect at this time.

The Richmond Police Department continues to investigate and patrols have reportedly been increased in the area.
