Tesla’s Days in China Are Numbered

Tesla, an electric carmaker cofounded by now Twitter-owner Elon Musk, has on many fronts been a poster child for success in China. It manufactures many of its cars there, it has plans to set up a battery factory there, and it sells a high percentage of its vehicles to the Chinese market. But that could all come to an end if the Chinese Communist Party decides to put Tesla out of the business. In this episode of China Unscripted, we discuss why China lures foreign companies to China only to sabotage them, whether Americans will get tired of foreign conflicts and push back against the US defending Taiwan, and the problems that come with US isolationism. Joining us in this episode is Anders Corr, the publisher of the Journal of Political Risk and principal at Corr Analytics. He’s also the author of the book The Concentration of Power: Institutionalization, Hierarchy, and Hegemony.
