Hong Kong has sent threatening letters to UK-based human rights organization Hong Kong Watch demanding it take down its website, or else. It has threatened its co-founder and CEO Benedict Rogers with jail time of up to life in prison (never mind he’s already been banned from entering Hong Kong) and it’s also reaching out to his neighbors and family to put pressure on him. He joins us today to discuss the threats he’s faced, how his case might be related to that of a UK-based Chinese spy, and the real-life consequences of being in the crosshairs of the Chinese Communist Party.
