Why Blacklisting Chinese Companies Isn’t Effective



The US has blacklisted a number of Chinese companies in hopes of preventing the from gaining access to sensitive US technology and/or helping the Chinese military build up its capabilities. But just how effective are these blacklists? Joining us to discuss this and more is Christopher Balding, a fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, and an associate professor at the Fulbright University Vietnam. Before that, he was an associate professor at Peking University HSBC School of Business in Shenzhen, China.
